Melisa Castillo was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is the proud daughter of two Mexican immigrants and a first-generation attorney.

Melisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi in 2019, followed by a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2024. While earning her Juris Doctorate, she participated in La Prensa, a bilingual publication created to provide a platform to express opinions and analyze relevant legal issues relating to the minority community. She is licensed and a member of the Oklahoma Bar.

Prior to joining Lira Bravo Law, she worked at Latitude Legal Alliance, a non-profit based in Oklahoma City, that provided high-quality, low to no-cost immigration legal services to the underserved immigrant population all over the state. Through this experience, it solidified her passion to helping immigrant communities and ensure they are empowered by the justice they deserve.
