Lira Bravo

Monica Lira Bravo is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and serves as the owner and managing attorney of Lira Bravo Law, PLLC. She has been recognized as a Rising Star in Immigration Law by Texas Super Lawyers Magazine and was named to D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas from 2016 to 2021. In 2020, she was included in the Dallas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. Her practice focuses on family-based visa petitions, citizenship, removal defense in the Dallas Immigration Court, asylum, and other humanitarian forms of relief.

 

Monica Lira Bravo was elected to the Dallas College Board of Trustees in June 2016 and is currently serving as Board Chair. Her district encompasses East Dallas, Mesquite, Pleasant Grove, Seagoville, and Sunnyvale. She also serves on the State Bar of Texas, District 6 Grievance Committee, The Callejo Botello Foundation Board, and the Advisory Board for the Dallas Women Lawyers Association. She is a past President of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association, a past fellow of the inaugural class of the Latino Center for Leadership Development, the founding chair of the Dallas Bar Association Immigration Law Section, and a past President of the Emerald Isle Homeowners Association.

Her previous service includes positions on the Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors, the Hispanic National Bar Association Board of Governors, the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the City of Dallas Judicial Nominating Commission, the Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico Board of Directors, and the Hockaday Alumnae Board. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Texas Bar Fellows, Sigma Lambda Gamma Dallas-Fort Worth Alumnae Association, Greater Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Jewish-Latino Leadership Group.

Monica received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Southern Methodist University and her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. She resides in East Dallas with her husband and three daughters.
